Republic of Korea   Short Term Business Visit

Business Visa Requirements

Nationals of following APEC economies are required to apply for visas for admission to Korea:
China
Indonesia
Papua New Guinea
Russian Federation
Vietnam
The Republic of the Philippines

Nationals of following APEC member economies are not required a visa for admission to Korea unless he or she is considered to be undertaking employment for the period specified in the mutual visa waiver agreements or visa-free scheme from 30 days to 6 months.

The length of stay for those who are not required a visa can be granted at the port of entry upon arrival.

APEC Business Travel Card (ABTC)Republic of Korea has been participated in the ABTC scheme from the early stage of its implementation to enhance the mobility of business people within the APEC economies for facilitation of trade in the region.
ABTC holders from participating economies in the ABTC scheme are generally to be provided with the streamlined entry clearance at the fast track on arrival at the international airports for a period of 90days unless the holders retain any evidence endangering the security and public interest of Korea.
Upon the immigration entry inspection in Korea, the card holders are required to present his/her passport or an acceptable travel document.
Documentation Required

To apply for a visa, the following documents are must be submitted:
 Valid passport
 Application Form
 Any relevant documents verifying the business purpose as follows:
  Letter of invitation from the korean registered     company
  Contracts
  Letter of Credit
  Invoice

Method of Lodgement

Visa applications can be made at the Korean overseas diplomatic missions closest to the applicant's place of residence.
A personal interview or local sponsor is needed only when requested by the consular officer.

Processing Time

The normal processing time for a short-term business visa application is 5 working days.

 

Multiple Entry Visas

Multiple entry visas to the nationals of Australia, Canada, China, Japan and United States will be granted on application pursuant to relevant bilateral agreements.

 

Validity/ExtensionThe maximum period of stay for a short-term business visa is 90 days, and the extension of short-term business visa is not allowed.
A multiple entry visa is usually valid for I year from the date of issuance and is permitted to stay for a period not exceeding 90 days for a single entry.
Business persons from all APEC economies other than Canada, or those who fall under 3 month visa waiver arrangements wishing to stay longer than 90 days or 3 months respectively will be required to apply for a long-term business visa.
Cost of Visa Application

Single entry visas per issue      US$ 30 (up to 90 days)

Multiple entry visas per issue     US$ 80

Fees can be paid usually by cash some agencies may receive cheques, postal or bank orders

 

Regulations relating to accompanying dependantsFamily members will generally be granted the same length of stay as the business person.
whether a family member requires a visa to accompany a business person to visit korea depends on his/her nationality and the travel document he/she holds. The terms and conditions for accompanying dependants will be administering according to the individual case.
