| Business Visa Requirements | Among APEC economies, only national from The People's Republic of China, Chinese Taipei and holder of Certificate of Indentity are required to apply for visa prior to their arrival in Malaysia.
Provides Visa on Arrival (VOA) facilities for expatriates and business people.
Provides Transit Pass at major points of entry who transit less than 120 hours.
Beside visa visitors were required to obtained visit pass at the point of entry. Short term business visit will be allowed within these categories :
- As owner and companies representatives entering for the purpose of attending companies meeting, Seminar, inspection of company's account or to ensure the smooth running of the company.
- As an investors or businessmen entering for the purpose of looking business opportunities and investment potential.
- As foreign representatives companies entering for the purpose of introducing their goods manufactured in Malaysia, but not engaging in direct selling of distribution.
- As properties owner entering for the purpose of negotiation, selling and leasing the properties.
- As Foreign reporter from mass media agencies entering for the purpose of covering convention or any event in Malaysia.
- As participant in any sport event.

| APEC Business Travel Card (ABTC) | Holder of Apec Business Travel Card does not required visa to enter and must have International Passport valid more than six months. Upon arrival visitors will be given two (2) months visit pass to stay temporary. National of Chinese Taipei required to apply for Document in lieu at Malaysian Overseas Mission or at time of arrival. |
| Documentation Required | To apply for a visa, the following documents must be submitted :
- Valid passport of more than six months.
- Two (2) copies application form IM 47
- Supporting document (letter of invitation from Malaysian registered companies)
- Two (2) passport size photograph
- Return or onword journey traveling ticket
- Proof of sufficient fund

| Method of Lodgement | Visa application can be made at the nearest Malaysian overseas mission. Interviews may be required. |
| Processing Time | Normal processing time for Visa Without Reference is one to three working days. |
| Multiple Entry Visas | Multiple entry visas will be granted upon approval of the visa applications. Normally will be granted for those being issued with long period of stay (e.g. employment, dependant or student) |
| Validity/Extension | Visitors upon arrival will be given endorsement of visit pass in their passport. The validity of visit pass is given base on nationality. The period of stay can be extended, upon application.
Application for extension can be made at:
Malaysia Immigration Department (Headquarters), Level 1-7 (Podium), Block 2G4, Precint 2, 62550 Putrajaya or at all Immigration State Offices.
The following document must be submitted when apply for extension of stay :
- Valid passport of more than six months
- Application form
- Supporting document (letter from sponsor and confirmed air ticket )
