Papua New Guinea   Short Term Business Visit

Business Visa RequirementsBusiness Category: Short- Term Multiple Entry Permit. This permit is designed for persons entering PNG to attend business meetings, board meetings, conferences, conduct an exploratory business visit or participate in business negotiations. Employment is Prohibited (except in very limited cases).  Only APTC holders pre-cleared by PNG are exempted from visa fees. All other Applicants must pay visa fees
APEC Business Travel Card (ABTC)Papua New Guinea is a member of the ABTC scheme along with Australia Republic of Korea, Hong Kong SAR, Chile, New Zealand, Malaysia, Thailand, Philippines, Brunei Darussalam, China, Indonesia, Japan, Peru, Chinese Taipei Singapore and Vietnam. Pursuant to the ABTC scheme, PNG grants every ABTC holder with a stay of up to sixty (60) days..
Documentation Required

To apply for a Short-Term Multiple Entry Permit, the following are the requirements:

  1. Complete ‘Application for Entry Permit’ (Form 1);
  2. Passport valid for at least six (6) months;
  3. Recent passport-sized photograph;
  4. Letter from business associate in PNG indicating purpose of visit, duration of stay, location of business, and proposed frequency of visits;

    5.   Evidence of return/ on-going ticket.

Method of LodgementApplication form, passport and supporting documents should be lodged at any PNG diplomatic mission or upon arrival at Jackson’s International Airport, Port Moresby along with the fee. A number of economies must apply for an entry permit prior to arrival in PNG, failure to do this will result in refused entry. (Please check with nearest PNG Diplomatic mission to check if you are eligible for visa-on-arrival)
Processing Time

Normal processing takes 3 to 14 days depending on information and documentation provided by Applicant.

Multiple Entry VisasThis permit is a Short -Term Multiple Entry Permit.
Validity/Extension

The Business Short-Term Multiple Entry Permit is valid for 12 months with a stay of up to sixty (60) days permitted on each arrival. A person may enter PNG up to and including the date of expiry of the Entry Permit as stated on the label. Extensions may be approved only once for a further 30 days, with an ‘Application to extend entry permit’ (form 4), extension fee and supporting documents stating reasons for extension.

Cost of Visa Application

Application fee for the Short-Term Multiple Entry Permit (fee in PNG Kina):

fee –500 Kina,    Dependant – 50 Kina

Extension fee – 750 Kina,   Dependant – 100 Kina

Late extension fee – 1500 Kina,   Dependant – nil

 

For applications lodged overseas, the fee is payable in the currency of that country. Contact the PNG diplomatic mission to confirm the fee amount and payment arrangements

Regulations relating to accompanying dependants

Dependant family members must make separate applications for a Tourist Entry Permit at PNG Diplomatic Missions or upon arrival at Jackson’s International Airport, Port Moresby (subject to eligibility).
