| Documentation Required | To apply for Temporary Business Residence, the following are the requirements:
- Valid passport or equivalent travel document;
- Recent passport-sized photos of all applicants;
- Completed ‘Application for Entry Permit’ Form 1;
- Medical documentation and police certificate;
- Certificate of Incorporation, IPA certificate permitting a foreign enterprise to conduct business in PNG (if applicable);
- Maintenance Guarantee Bond;
- Letter of Approval from Department of Labour and Employment;
- Educational qualifications and CV.

| Method of Lodgement | Completed ‘application for Entry Permit’ Form 1, along with passport, medical documentation and police certificate should be lodged at the relevant PNG diplomatic mission. Supporting documentation should be lodged by the sponsor at Immigration and Citizenship Division (ICD), Department of Foreign Affairs and Immigration (DFAI). Pay applicable fee at the PNG Diplomatic mission in your country of residence, and include the receipt with your supporting documentation to the ICD. |
| Processing Time | Normally up to 3 months because of work permit processing, however, if applying for Change of Status within PNG, this can take 14 days. |
| Length of Validity and Stay | Valid for periods of up to 3 years and are issued for multiple entry in accordance with expiry dates of the work permit/approval issued by the Department of Labour and Employment (DLIR). |

| Extension | Extension may be granted if the employee is required to continue in the same position or promoted to a new position. A new work permit must be issued by DLIR. Request for extension must be made well in advance (4 weeks minimum) of the expiry of the existing Entry Permit. |
| Rules Relating to Accompanying Dependants | Dependant family members must make separate applications for an Entry Permit. |
