| Business Residency Permit Requirements | Nationals of all APEC economies are required to apply for a visa for temporary permanence in Peru. They can apply through a legal representative in Peru or enter with a business visa and apply for a change of status (CCM).

- Visas will be issued to foreigners that will invest in Peru or will work for any company for temporary permanence or residence (depending on the time period required).
- Temporary permanence is issued for 90 days (renewable up to one year for investors, students and workers) or one year depending on the length of stay for shareholders or directors, or contract for workers.

| Arrangements for Intra Company Transfers and Specicalists |
Peruvian regulation doesn’t have a regime for Intra Company Transfer nor Specialist. Both will be incorporated in the Foreign Status Law project expected to be approved by December 2004. |

- Visa application form. (Cost US $ 7.00)
- For workers: working contract approved by the Ministry of Labor.
- For investors: copy of (Testimonio de escritura pública registered) in case of investment.
- In case of technicians entering Peru to work on behalf of their main company, a letter of designation will be required.
- Additional documents may be required in special cases.

| Method of Lodgement |
- For a residence visa, a legal representative must lodge the application at Peruvian Immigration offices, and the visa will be sent to the Peruvian consulate previously required on the application form.
- For a change of status, the applicant at Peruvian immigration offices must lodge the application personally.

| Extension |
- For a temporary permanence visa with 90 days of entry, the holder can apply for extensions up to one year depending on the migratory category required, then he will have to leave the country and apply for a new visa if necessary. The holder is able to leave and reenter any time while visa is valid.
- One-year temporary residence can be renewed for same periods of time as long as investment or working contract is valid.
- After a period of two years, foreigners with one-year entry resident visas are able to apply for an Immigrant Visa indefinitely.
- Dependant family members obtain their extensions through petition from the principal visa holder.
- Extensions are processed at the Peruvian Immigration Offices, in a 48-hour time frame.

| Review/Appeal Procedures |
Established by the General Administrative Procedures Law. Once denied, visa applicant must appeal before the General Director of the Immigration and Naturalization Directorate. Final decision is expected within 30 working days. |
