Thailand   Short Term Business Visit

Business Visa Requirements

Foreign business travelers are required to obtain a Non-Immigrant Visa Category “B” before entering the Kingdom.  

Nationals of APEC economies, which are exempted from visa requirements, are permitted to stay for a period of not exceeding 30 days: Australia, Brunei Darussalam, Canada, Hong Kong, Indonesia, Japan,Malaysia, New Zealand, Philippines, Singapore, United States and Vietnam.

 

Nationals of APEC economies, which concluded agreements with Thailand on the exemption of visa requirements, are permitted to stay for a period of not exceeding 90 days: Chile, Republic of Korea and Peru.   

Nationals of one APEC economy, which concluded an agreement with Thailand on the exemption of visarequirements, are permitted to stay for a period of not exceeding 30 days: Russia.

Nationals of People’s Republic of China and Chinese Taipei are eligible to apply for visa on arrival at international checkpoints which will permit them to stay for a period of not exceeding 15 days.

 

APEC Business Travel Card (ABTC)

Thailand has become a participant in the APEC Business Travel Card (ABTC) Scheme since 2000.  The ABTC is available to bona fide business persons who are nationals of participating economies.  ABTC holders who have received pre-clearance from Thailand are permitted to enter the Kingdom without visa and shall be granted a 90-day stay permit each time.

Documentation Required

Basic documents for application for the Non-Immigrant Visa “B” include;

1.      Duly-filled application form

2.   Passport/travel document used in lieu of passport

3.   2 photographs

4.   Associated Thai company registration document

5.   Introductory or sponsorship letters relevant to the applicant's purpose of visit from associated  companies, business representatives, partners, government agencies or other authorities.

Method of Lodgement

Applications for Non-Immigrant Visa should be lodged at the Royal Thai Embassies or Consulates.

Processing TimeNormal processing time for Non-Immigrant Visa applications is 1-3 working days.
Multiple Entry Visas

One-year and three-year multiple-entry Non-Immigrant Visa are available for APEC bona fide business

Persons. Holders of single-entry visa are also eligible to apply for re-entry permit before leaving the Kingdom.
Validity/Extension

A single-entry Non-Immigrant Visa is valid for 3 months. Multiple-entry Non-Immigrant Visas are available and are valid for 1 year and 3 years. All the Non-Immigrant Visa holders would be granted an initial 90-day stay permit in the Kingdom, and may apply for an extension of stay permit where necessary at any Immigration office.  www.immigration.go.th        

Cost of Visa Application

Non-Immigrant Visa “B” fees:      single-entry                              Baht   2,000

                                          one-year multiple-entry              Baht   5,000

                                          three-year multiple-entry            Baht 10,000

 

(Visa fee is collected at the Royal Thai Embassies and Consulates in local currencies)

Regulations relating to accompanying dependants

Accompanying dependents may apply for Non-Immigrant Visa Category “O” at the Royal Thai Embassies and Consulates. The validity of their stay permits is granted according to the validity of the principal’s permit.
