| Business Visa Requirements | Business people from APEC economies must obtain visa F or visa Z to take up temporary residence in China.
- Business people who wish to stay in China for no more than 6 months should apply for visa F. An invitation letter from authorized organizations is required when submitting the application.
Business people who come to China to take up posts or employment should apply for visa Z. Applicants should submit the Employment License (applied by his employers) and an invitation letter from authorized organizations. |
| APEC Business Travel Card (ABTC) | The People's Republic of China has participated the APEC Business Travel Card(ABTC) Scheme in Feberuary, 2002 and has started to implemented the ABTC scheme as from November, 2003.
Upon arrival, ABTC holders are requested to present their valid passports and ABTC on the back of which must state that it is valid for travel to China. The ABTC holders could also use the ABTC special lanes at international airports.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of PRC is responsible for the implementation of ABTC Scheme and issues ABTC to Chinese business people. The Minisrry of Public Security of PRC is responsible for the examination of ABTCs and provides faciliatation for ABTC holders when they enter and exit.

| Validity/Extension | Term of Validity of Residence Permits range from 1 to 5 years, decided by the Exit-and-Entry Administration according to the purposes of aliens’ stay in China.
Visa F can be extended by unlimited times, with each extension no more than 3 months and the accumulated duration of stay no more than 1 year. An Alien Residence Permit can be extended based on the purposes of the holder’s stay. |
| Cost of Visa Application | The fee for an Alien Temporary Residence Permit is RMB 100, and for an Alien Residence Permit is RMB 200. |
| Regulations relating to accompanying dependants | Accompanying family members are subject to the same terms. Family members should not take up employment in China unless granted Employment License. |
