Citizens from APEC economies must apply for a visa offshore, prior to their departure to Indonesia to take up limited period of stay. |
| Categories of Permits |
For Temporary Business purposes, the Limited Stay Visa (VITAS) may be eligible to be obtained offshore for limited period of stay.
Soon after arrived in Indonesia, the Limited Stay Visa holders must report to the nearest Immigration Office and apply for Limited Stay Permit. This Limited Stay Permit valid vary from 6 (six) months up to 2 (two) years period of stay. |
| Arrangements for Intra Company Transfers and Specicalists | Indonesia recognises intra-corporate transferees including specialists and experts. Intra-corporate transferees may apply for Limited Stay Visa offshore or conduct stay permit status conversion from Visit Stay Permit into Limited Stay Permit onshore. There are several categories of these visas or stay permits.
Prior to lodgement of visa or stay permit applications; working permit from Department of Manpower is required.

General requirements of documents for Limited Stay Visa application are:
- Travel Document with minimum validity:
q 1 (one) year validity for applying 6 (six) months Limited Stay Visa;
q 1 (one) year and 6 (six) months validity for applying 1 (one) year Limited Stay Visa
q 2 (two) years and 6 (six) months validity for applying 2 (two) years Limited Stay Visa
- Completed application form
- Letter from sponsor (company of counterpart, representative or sponsor in Indonesia).
- Eligibility documents of sponsor company in Indonesia
- Working permit from Department of Manpower (RPTKA/TA01)
- Photographs

| Method of Lodgement |
Application is submitted to the nearest Indonesian representative (Embassies or Consulates) and addressed to the Directorate General of Immigration Jakarta. |
| Processing Time | Processing time takes no longer than 30 (thirty) days. |
| Length of Validity and Stay | The validity of Limited Stay Visa and Limited Stay Permit are various started from 6 (six) months up to 2 (two) years and it is extendable. Once the holder has reached up 2 (two) years of staying in Indonesia continuously, the Limited Stay Permit can be converted into Permanent Stay Permit, which is valid for 5 (five) years period.
Note: Permanent Stay Permit is dissimilar with Permanent Resident. Its holder must to report to the Directorate General of Immigration and update their status every 5 (five) years |

Fees:
1. Business Visit Visa application fee is US $45
2. Limited Stay Visa application fee is US $50 for 6 (six) months period, US $100 for 1 (one) year period, and US $175 for 2 (two) years period.
3. Limited Stay Permit application fee is Rp. 350.000 for 6 (six) months period, Rp. 700.000 for 1 (one) year period, and Rp. 1.200.000 for 2 (two) years period
4. Limited Stay Permit extension fee is similar with the application fee.
5. Permanent Stay Permit application fee is Rp. 3.000.000,- |
| Extension | The appeal of stay permit extension may be conducted by sponsor company in Indonesia |
| Rules Relating to Accompanying Dependants | Accompanying dependants or family members are permitted to accompany the intra-company transferees with the same length of stay. Marriage or birth certificate is required. |
| Review/Appeal Procedures | The appeal for review may be lodged through letter to the Minister of Justice and Human Rights of RI via Director General of Immigration. |
